Shipping Policy
At Toronto Rare Plants, we carefully inspect and pack every plant before shipment to ensure it leaves us healthy and in good condition. Because live plants are fragile and courier handling, weather conditions, and transit delays are outside of our control, some degree of shipping stress or cosmetic damage may occur during transit.
By choosing shipping, customers acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with shipping live plants, including but not limited to damaged or lost leaves, bent or broken stems/petioles, cosmetic damage, soil displacement, wilting, and other shipping-related stress. These issues do not necessarily indicate that the plant is no longer viable, as many plants can recover and produce new growth.
We pack all orders as securely as reasonably possible. However, Toronto Rare Plants is not responsible for damage caused by courier handling, shipping delays, extreme temperatures, weather conditions, or circumstances occurring after the package has been transferred to the carrier.
If your plant arrives with significant shipping damage, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery and provide clear photos of the plant, packaging, and shipping box. We will review each case individually.
When appropriate, and at our discretion, we may offer a replacement plant or store credit as a goodwill resolution. Replacement plants may be included with a future order at no additional charge for the replacement plant and do not expire. If a customer requests a replacement to be shipped separately, applicable shipping charges will be the customer’s responsibility.
Shipping charges and promotional free-shipping benefits apply only to the original qualifying order and do not cover separate replacement shipments.
Unless otherwise agreed by Toronto Rare Plants, refunds are not provided for courier-related damage when the plant remains viable or recoverable. Any replacement, credit, or other accommodation offered for transit damage is assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Customers who prefer to avoid the risks associated with shipping live plants are welcome to select local pickup in Downtown Toronto or North York when available.
By placing an order for shipment, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted this Shipping Policy.
